Root Down, Rise Up 2026: A Garden Party Rooted in Community

Root Down, Rise Up – Alchemist CDC’s signature annual fundraiser, returns home to Oak Park for an open house-style garden party!

Held alongside Oak Park’s First Friday activities, the evening celebrates the people, places, and partnerships that bring Alchemist CDC’s work to life. Guests are invited to explore the garden at their own pace, connect with one another, and experience our work across food access, economic empowerment, and community-based placemaking. What to Expect

Enjoy wine tasting, live music, and bites from Alchemist Kitchen Incubator Program (AKIP) entrepreneurs Jerk Street Tacos, Nacho House, Warm Nuts and Hot Buns, and Sugar Coated Cupcakes.

Activities and learning stations throughout the garden will offer a closer look at Alchemist CDC’s programs and impact. Guests can also discover the many improvements made to Oak Park Sol over the past two years through investments from our friends in Leadership Sacramento’s Class of 2025 and at Blue Shield of California.

Attendees will receive a map highlighting nearby Alchemist spaces, including Oak Park Art Garden and Pansy Community Garden Park, as well as local restaurants and businesses to visit as they continue their First Friday evening in the neighborhood.

With minimal formal programming and plenty to celebrate, Root Down, Rise Up will be an evening among friends, rooted in community, with the goal of raising critical support for Alchemist CDC’s mission.
