What is Dine Downtown?
Dine Downtown unites restaurants across the central city during a traditionally slow time for the industry. With pre-fixe, three-course meals for $45, chefs can get creative and you’ll experience fine dining like never before. For every Dine Downtown prix-fixe meal sold from January 10-19, $1 will be donated to Alchemist Community Development Corporation (Alchemist CDC). You can find the participating restaurants and menus here at the Downtown Sacramento Partnership website.

Tell me more about Alchemist CDC, the beneficiary of Dine Downtown 2025.
Founded in 2004, Alchemist CDC is a mission-driven non-profit that connects Sacramento-area communities to land, food, and opportunity toward a vision in which all neighborhoods are vibrant, equitable, healthy, and diverse. We help strengthen the community through the local food system, ranging from food access to inclusive economic development.
Our diverse program offerings include:
- Farmers’ Markets: Operating 3 certified farmers’ markets and providing CalFresh/EBT access and Market Match nutrition incentives at 9 local farmers’ markets
- Food Entrepreneurship: Providing training and incubation to new, under-resourced food business entrepreneurs in the Sacramento region, our Alchemist Kitchen program offers the 12 week Alchemist Microenterprise Academy every spring and fall and supports select businesses through our Alchemist Kitchen Incubator Program. Find a directory of Incubator businesses here.
- Neighborhood Empowerment: Operating and managing community garden spaces in Sacramento.
- Community Food Connections: Providing regular grocery deliveries to the most vulnerable food-insecure and homeless families in the Sacramento City Unified School District while supporting small local farms. Community Food Connections provided 11,000 meals to student households in 2024!
- Alchemist Public Market: After years in the making, our most ambitious project ever will be opening just north of Downtown in summer 2026. Alchemist Public Market will offer the amenities needed to enable under-served entrepreneurs to start new food businesses, provide workforce development for workers with high barriers to employment, create an attractive and energetic community gathering place, and offer neighbors access to quality food from local producers.
- Workforce Development: Currently under development, our new Alchemist Workforce Academy program will launch in 2026 and train a new generation of exceptional hospitality and food service workers for the Greater Sacramento region, but particularly for downtown, Farm-to-Fork focused restaurants
- Advocacy: As both a standalone organization and in collaboration with partner networks, we are involved in advocacy around food policy at various jurisdictional levels including city, school district, county, state, and federal government.
