“As part of their work toward Bachelors of Science in Nursing at California Northstate University’s College of Health Sciences, teams of students spent their spring 2026 semester volunteering with programs of Alchemist Community Development Corporation, while also designing and creating projects in consultation with the community. In their blog posts, the students reflect upon their work in the context of authentic community engagement and the complex realities of food and nutrition insecurity.
