This weekend represents a celebration of the incredible work being done in local food systems, but for Alchemist CDC, this work continues year-round:
- operating a safety net program to supplement the grocery budgets of low-income households when they shop at farmers’ markets
- running certified farmers’ markets across Sacramento County
- growing food to be given away to food-insecure neighbors
- distributing emergency groceries to some of the most vulnerable families in Sacramento
- training, incubating, and equipping new food businesses
- providing workforce development for the next generation of food industry professionals
- advocating for a more just and equitable food system!
There are many ways to join and support our essential work:
